C = Consequences = Consequences:
The family should also document the consequences of the wandering behavior, such as:
- Were there injuries?
- Was the person lost?
- Did you leave a familiar place or area?
- Did you get into a car on your own?
- Did the behavior affect others? (e.g. taking away goods without paying for them, etc.)
Family members can make early preventive preparations based on past records, such as communicating with nearby merchants in advance to indicate that the elder has a tendency to wander, and contacting family members as soon as possible if they suspect that the elder is wandering.
