Caregivers can use simple signs and symbols to remind elders of their daily routines.
- Put “Cross” or “Stop” on the front door to indicate that elders should not go out alone.
- Putting “Danger” or “Fire” on the window of the stove to remind elders not to go near it.
- Put up stickers on the outside of different rooms in the house to show the purpose of the room and minimize the chance of entering the room by mistake.
Tips: Make sure the elderly understand the meaning of the pictures or labels before using them.
