One of the causes of wandering is the thought of going out due to inactivity. Some caregivers simply remind the elderly to stay at home to avoid getting lost and getting lost, and are troubled when the elderly do not follow the instructions. In fact, this approach is usually ineffective because it neglects the need for the elderly to establish a regular schedule at home to keep their lives organized. A daily schedule includes not only regular self-care activities, such as grooming, eating, bathing, etc., but also other activities in different areas, such as exercising, going for a walk, reading the newspaper, cognitive stimulation activities in the home, chatting with friends and relatives on the phone, and handling simple household chores. With a full life at home, the risk of wandering will be reduced as there will not be anything to do that would lead to thoughts of going out.
