根据本港研究资料，认知障碍症患者走失引致的负面后果，实在不容忽视。差不多一成走失患者于寻回后被发现身体有损伤，接近三成患者在过程中受到惊吓。另外，超过四成的照顾者十分担心患者再次走失。
